Light Fixtures

Published on

Before we could do our electrical walk through, we had to make sure we picked out all the lighting fixtures we wanted in our home. As with other design choices, building custom means your options are basically unlimited. This can be good or bad depending on how you feel, but Lexi loves being able to sift through everything to find exactly what we want.

We went through the house ourselves and confirmed what fixtures we would be looking for so we had a list to go off of. Here’s what we needed:

Living room chandelier
Dining room chandelier
Kitchen island pendants
Fans for 3 bedrooms and office
Vanity lights for all bathrooms
Sconces for primary bedroom
Chandelier for over the tub in the primary bathroom
Fans for covered patio
Exterior sconces by garage doors and front door

Based on what we know of our style, the main stores we looked at were: West Elm, Crate & Barrel, and Wayfair (and All Modern, but this is part of the Wayfair fam). We also went to Home Depot for fans.

We spent an afternoon searching these stores and were able to make our choices all in the one day. Here’s what we landed on!

Just like the rest of the house, we were searching for modern or mid-century style fixtures. We will be mixing gold and black finishes throughout the home, so we chose some gold fixtures to help tie that together. We love the fluted glass look, so we wanted to bring that into some of the lighting as well. We also ended up finding a super fun, mid-century style chandelier for the freestanding tub. These fixtures have all arrived, so of course we’re already anxious to see them installed even though that will be a while still. We’re nearing the end of our decisions on finishes, so stay tuned for more reveals on our choices!
